Terms of Service

EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 23, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Joshua Darko, doing business as Cadence by Commune (“Cadence”, “we”) for the use of cadenceclips.com. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

What the service does

You give Cadence a recording — a file you upload or a YouTube link you paste. Cadence transcribes it, uses AI models to propose short moments worth clipping, reframes each one vertically around the speaker, burns in captions, and gives you the finished clips to download.

The clips are chosen by an AI model, not a person. It has no understanding of your theology, your context or your intentions, and it will sometimes propose something unsuitable, out of context or simply wrong. Everything is presented to you for review, and nothing is published anywhere by us. What you do with a clip is your decision, and yours alone.

Your account

You need a working email address, and you must confirm it before the service will process anything. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at joshua@truthis.tv if you think someone else has access to it.

You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and at least 13.

The recordings you give us

You must own the recording or have the right to use it. This applies just as much to a YouTube link as to a file: pasting a link to a video you do not have rights to does not give you rights to it. You are confirming, every time you upload or paste a link, that you have permission from whoever owns the recording and from the people appearing or speaking in it, and that processing it does not break anyone else’s rights or any law.

Only YouTube links are supported. Other video sites are rejected.

You keep ownership of your recordings and of the clips Cadence produces from them. You give us permission to store and process your recording only so far as it takes to run the service for you and to improve how well it selects moments. We do not claim your clips, we do not publish them, and we do not license them to anyone.

You are responsible for what you publish. A clip is a short extract taken out of a longer talk. Check it before you post it.

Credits and pricing

  • A credit costs $10.
  • A video up to 90 minutes costs one credit.
  • A video over 90 minutes costs two credits. The maximum length is two hours.
  • Your first video is free: one credit is added to your account once you confirm your email address.
  • A credit is spent when processing starts, not when you download a clip. You can make as many clips as you like from one video.

Payment is taken by Stripe. Prices are in US dollars and may change; a change never affects credits you already hold.

Refunds

If processing fails on our side, your credit is returned automatically. You do not need to ask. This is a credit back to your account, not money back to your card.

That covers the cases where we could not deliver: a download that failed, a transcription that failed, or the clip-selection stage failing part-way through. When it happens the upload page tells you the credit has been returned.

Credits are otherwise non-refundable. In particular, we do not refund a credit because you did not like the clips the model chose — selection quality is a matter of judgement and is exactly what you are paying us to attempt. Buying a credit is a purchase of processing, not a guarantee of a particular result.

If you think something has gone wrong that these rules do not cover, write to joshua@truthis.tv. We would rather sort it out than argue about it.

Acceptable use

Do not use Cadence to:

  • process a recording you do not have the rights to;
  • produce anything unlawful, or anything that harasses, defames or endangers someone;
  • make material that misrepresents what a person said — including editing a clip so that a speaker appears to say something they did not;
  • process a recording of people who have not consented to being recorded, where their consent is required;
  • break, overload, probe or work around the service, its limits or its billing;
  • resell access to the service, or run it on someone else’s behalf as a bureau without telling us.

There are rate limits on uploads. Attempting to evade them, or creating accounts in bulk to collect free credits, is a breach of these terms.

What we do not promise

The service is provided as it is. We do not warrant that clip selection will be good, that captions will be accurate, that transcription will be correct, that the service will be available without interruption, or that it will suit any particular purpose. Transcription and clip selection are performed by AI models and will contain mistakes.

We take care with your recordings, but we do not offer this as a backup service. Keep your own copy of anything you value.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Cadence is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, for lost profits, lost audience or lost data, or for anything arising from a clip you chose to publish.

Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars. Some places do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to you only as far as the law allows.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using Cadence whenever you like, and you can delete your account yourself from the Account page — see the Privacy Policy for what that removes and what it does not.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is being used unlawfully, or that is damaging the service for other people. Where it is reasonable to do so we will warn you first. If we close your account without cause, we will refund unused credits.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the effective date at the top changes with them, and continuing to use the service means accepting the new version. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will email the address on your account.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of California have jurisdiction over any dispute, and you and we both agree to that.
