Privacy Policy

EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 23, 2026

Cadence is operated by Joshua Darko, doing business as Cadence by Commune. This page describes what the service actually does with your information, written from the code that runs it. Where there is a limit on what we can delete or how quickly, this page says so plainly rather than implying otherwise.

What we collect

Your email address and password. That is the entire account. We do not ask for your name, your organisation, your phone number or your address, and there is nowhere in the product to enter them. Your password is stored by our authentication provider as a hash; we never see it.

The videos you upload, and videos we download from a YouTube link you paste. The complete original file is stored.

A transcript of everything spoken in the video. This is the part worth understanding clearly. The transcript is the complete verbatim text, plus every individual word with its start and end time to the millisecond. For a one-hour sermon that is roughly eleven thousand timed words. If something was said aloud in the recording — a name, a personal story, a confession, a prayer request — it is in the transcript we store.

The clips the system proposes, and the parts of the transcript they quote. Each proposed moment stores the words spoken in it and the model’s written reason for choosing it, which quotes the speaker.

What you decide. When you keep, pass, trim or download a clip, we record it, along with the surrounding transcript text for a trim and any reason you select for a pass. We use this to judge and improve how well the system picks moments.

Billing records. Credits granted, spent and refunded, and the Stripe checkout session identifier for a purchase. We never receive or store your card details. Those are collected by Stripe on their own payment page and never reach our servers or our database.

A logo, if you upload one to watermark your clips.

What we do not collect

Cadence has no analytics, no tracking pixels and no advertising. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no session recorder, and no third-party script of any kind on the site. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not sell or share your information for advertising. Our own code never records your IP address or location.

Cookies and browser storage

We set one cookie: the session cookie that keeps you signed in. It is not used for tracking, and if you are not signed in, visiting the site sets no cookie at all. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.

Your browser also stores two small conveniences on your own device: whether you have seen the review screen’s introduction, and bookkeeping that lets a large upload resume if it is interrupted. Neither leaves your device and neither identifies you.

Why we process your video

To do the thing you asked for. In order: transcribe the audio, read the transcript to find moments worth clipping, judge the quality of each one, work out where the speaker is in the frame so the clip can be reframed vertically, burn in captions, and email you when it is finished. We also charge for it, which means keeping a record of credits.

Who else receives your information

Cadence cannot do this work alone. These companies process your information on our behalf, and this is exactly what each one gets:

  • Supabase — your account, the database, and the video files themselves. Supabase holds everything: email, videos, transcripts, clips and billing records. Every file is stored privately and served only through short-lived links after we check that the file belongs to you.
  • OpenAI — the audio and the transcript. We extract the audio track, convert it to a compressed mono file, and send it to Whisper for transcription; the video itself is never sent. The transcript text is then sent to GPT-4o to find candidate moments. It is read in overlapping windows several times over, so effectively the whole transcript crosses to OpenAI more than once per video.
  • Anthropic — transcript excerpts, and still images of your video. Claude models decide the exact start and end of each clip and then judge its quality, receiving the relevant passages of transcript. Separately, if you use the thumbnail tool, still frames sampled across your video — including images of the speaker — are sent to Claude so it can pick a good frame.
  • Inngest — job coordination. It runs the processing pipeline step by step and stores each step’s result so a job can resume after a failure. Some of those results contain transcript quotes and the model’s notes about them.
  • Stripe — payment. Stripe receives the price and an internal account identifier, and collects your email and card details itself on its own page. Stripe never receives your video, audio or transcript.
  • Resend — email delivery. It receives your email address and the contents of the message we send you, such as how many clips are ready. No transcript or video content is included.
  • Vercel and Railway — the servers the website and the video processing run on. Your video passes through the processing server and a copy is held in a working cache there, which clears itself over time as newer videos arrive.
  • YouTube — only if you paste a link. Our server requests that video from YouTube. YouTube sees the request and our server’s address; it does not receive anything about you.

Each of these companies keeps data according to its own policies and its own retention periods, which we do not control and do not restate here.

How long we keep things

Your original video is deleted 30 days after processing finishes. Previews and finished clips are deleted 90 days after they are made. Download anything you want to keep before then.

Deletion runs automatically on a schedule; we do not wait to be asked. After 30 days the original recording is gone from our storage entirely, which also means we can no longer re-cut a clip from it.

What we keep for as long as your account exists: the transcript, the clips the system proposed and their verdicts, your decisions about them, and your credit history. These are small, they are what the review page is made of, and they are what lets us judge whether clip selection is getting better. Deleting your account removes them too.

Deleting your account and your data

Account → Delete my account removes everything, immediately and permanently. If you cannot sign in, email joshua@truthis.tv from the address you signed up with and we will do it for you.

That covers your account, your videos, your transcripts, your proposed and finished clips, your decisions and your billing records. It cannot be undone, and any credits you have left are lost, so download anything you want first.

Two honest limits. A download link already issued to you stays valid for up to four hours after it was created, because that is how long the link itself lives. And a working copy on the processing server clears as that cache turns over rather than the moment you press the button.

Inside the product you can also delete an uploaded logo on its own at any time.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy of it, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to joshua@truthis.tv from your account email address. Depending on where you live you may have further rights under local law, including California privacy law; the same address is how to exercise them. We do not charge for these requests and we do not treat you differently for making one.

Children

Cadence is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly create accounts for them. If you believe a child has an account, write to joshua@truthis.tv and we will remove it.

Note that a recording you upload may contain the voices of other people, including children, who are not Cadence users. You are responsible for having the right to upload that recording — see the Terms.

Security

Uploaded files are stored privately and are never publicly readable. Every request for a video, preview or finished clip is checked against your account before a short-lived link is issued, and those links are marked never to be cached. We cannot promise that any system is impossible to breach, and we do not make that promise here.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes with it. If a change materially affects what we do with information we already hold, we will email the address on your account.
